Snow Day
Snow Day
isn't to say that it snowed a lot today; we had a much heavier snow
storm a few weeks ago, and the snow today lasted only a few hours
before melting off. That said, I have no idea what makes today
appropriate as snow days go.
I'm on my way to Seattle to go rock climbing with Mihae and talk about
w33construct. Hopefully there will be tasty espresso involved as well.
For those not in the know, I've transformed into an espresso addict
ever since I received an espresso machine for Christmas =]
I'll drop in a photo as soon as I find a good one..

The Fit is Go
Honda Fit. We're about to go hiking, and for some reason I felt
compelled to express my mild disdain for cheaply produced cars in
general. Something about fake carbon fiber plastic accents and ugly
vinyl car seat patterns puts me off intensely. If a car manufacturer
is going to bother producing a cheap vehicle any more elaborate that
an old school VW Beetle, surely some small amount of capital should be
allocated towards hiring someone to make sure the interior design
isn't so bad as to cause immediate feelings of distaste in those who
ride in it...

Bainbridge
of the island that you see as you make the approach to the ferry dock.
Faeries
State ferries, watching it fill with passengers as it prepares head
out from Seattle to Bainbridge Island. These ferries are just a cog in
the seemingly clockwork public transit system that covers the greater
King County and Puget Sound area. I find something about the
reliability of it all intensely comforting, like an old friend who is
always able to understand you no matter how time and space may have
distanced you both.

Bainbridge
been to Bainbridge Island to see my aunt and uncle since last
semester. Now I find myself on a bus out to the city with some lame
(;D) Rod Stewart cover playing over and over in my head, so I find
myself in the mood to reflect. That is, to reflect as well as one can
via a phone that has been made harder to type on by the bus's handling
of an uneven highway.
Crossing the bridge over lake Washington is always interesting. On one
side of the bridge (the right, if you're approaching Seattle) the lake
is quiet and calm, and on the other side the lake is full of small
waves, as though in preparation for a storm. It fascinates me how,
under perfectly standard Washingtonian weather conditions, this lake
can appear so simple and serene if one were to look at it from one
direction, and yet so worried and full of anxiety if one were to look
the other way.
That's all the time I have for now. More later =]
